STRONG WOMEN, STRONG COMMUNITIES
This FREE brand-new course offers women the opportunity to become champions and become active citizens in supporting their various communities. The course offers women the opportunity to put into practice their new-found skills and identify any further support needed for their personal development, to enable them to take up a decision-making role. A particular focus of the course is to support a community coordinated and inclusive response to safeguarding and protecting families and children.
Course components will include:
Leadership and skills – conflict management, communication skills, decision making, critical thinking, delegating, influencing and negotiating,
Assertiveness training to increase confidence and resilience
Peer learning – sharing new ideas
Opportunities to attend Networking events
Action planning – personal development action plans
Opportunity to be involved in video conferencing internationally with women groups who are also addressing issues of concern to their communities
The course will be practical and interactive and will include opportunities for debate and discussion. Certificates will be provided by West Midlands Police.
Course Delivered by:
Viv Brosnahan and Balbir Sohal, both with experienced of working with diverse groups in the voluntary and statutory sector.
