Dear Reader,
August was a quiet month for peace-related activity in Coventry. The main event was the Hiroshima Day Commemoration on the 6th, and we include photographs of this event.
September will be more lively with the much anticipated RISING Global Peace Forum to be held on 12-13. Book your free seat by writing to RISING@coventry.ac.uk.
And don't forget to book your seat at the Lord Mayor's November Peace Lecture by the well-known journalist and broadcaster Yasmin Alibhai-Brown on the subject "Keeping Faith in Just Values in an Age of Populism". Seats are likely to be short supply so best to book early here.
Community leaders can receive an invitation to have tea with Yasmin and the Lord Mayor of Coventry before the lecture! Please write to me explaining why you want to meet her and I will send you an invitation.
There is a list of other forthcoming peace-related activities below.
Thank you for your continued support of our work in sharing news and events related to peace and reconciliation with communities in Coventry.
Please do let us know of any peace-related news or activities happening in or near Coventry and we will be happy to add them to our website http://coventrycityofpeace.uk and include them in a future edition of this newsletter.
