A 3 day course on restorative justice spread over 3 weeks will be run in Birmingham for school staff from 8 to 22 November 2018.
What is a Restorative Approach?
A restorative approach offers schools an alternative way of addressing discipline and behavioural issues and offers a consistent framework for responding to these issues. The aim of this training is to contribute to the building of a strong, mutually respectful, safe, inclusive and peaceful school community. This course provides intensive, interactive facilitator training, focusing on an understanding of restorative ethos and the practice of sound restorative practitioner skills. This course has met the Restorative Justice Council’s (RJC) training standards and has been awarded a Training Provider Quality Mark. This course will delivered by an RJC Accredited Practitioner.
Who is this course for?
This course is for schools that are looking to train staff to facilitate restorative practices such as formal conferences, corridor and playground chats and class circles. The course is very inclusive and is designed to skill up those people who have responsibility for relationships in school. It is suitable for Senior and Middle Leaders, Pastoral Staff, SenCos, Family Workers and class teachers. Ideally, the person attending the course will be able to implement changes when back in school. People from Primary, Secondary and FE settings are welcome. We are limiting the numbers to 12 participants so as to ensure a quality trainer – participant ratio.
How much does the course cost?
The earlybird price is £350. The full price is £450 per person for the 3 day course.
How long is the course?
The course runs over three days, a week apart: Thursday 8th November 2018, Thursday 15th November 2018 and Thursday 22nd November 2018. Participants must attend all three training days. Although you are booking for the 8th November on Eventbrite, your fee covers the three days:
