Positive Images Festival
Positive Images Festival is an annual community-led award-winning festival, which celebrates diversity, promotes community cohesion, showcases local talent and provides volunteering opportunities. The festival, incorporating a variety of events, is held in June each year. The festival runs in June with post-festival events in July.
The festival committee is very keen to see increased participation by young people. Further information is available on its website www.positiveimagesfestival.co.uk
Created in 2002 to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, the award recognises the outstanding work carried out by local volunteer groups in their communities. In 2016 Positive Images received the highest accolade for voluntary groups – the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
Positive Images planning meetings are held 12.30pm – 2.00pm in the main meeting room of the Central Library on the first Wednesday of every month from September to May. All are welcome to attend.

Passing of Colin Scott
We are sorry to announce that Colin Scott, who had been the Chair and later the Treasurer of Positive Images and facilitated Hillfields Readers Group, passed away on 4 December 2023.
His contribution to the library service and his passion for the citizens of Coventry was second to none. The development of the Positive Images Festival was trail-blazing and the city was very fortunate to have him, together with Mehru Fitter, driving this agenda. He will be missed and his legacy will live on.
We plan to publish more information about this extraordinary Coventry citizen in the near future.
