Scientists for Global Responsibility
Scientists for Global Responsibility (SGR) is an independent UK-based membership organisation of hundreds of natural scientists, social scientists, engineers, IT professionals and architects. We promote science, design and technology that contribute to peace, social justice, and environmental sustainability.
SGR’s work is focused on four main issues: security and disarmament; climate change and energy, including nuclear power; who controls science and technology? and emerging technologies.
SGR coordinates Science4Society Week – a collection of science education activities designed to inspire young people. It takes place in March. The project was set up to provide an alternative to activities funded by the arms and fossil fuel industries.
