I am looking for inspirational, enthusiastic, motivated and passionate young people (18 to 25) who can form a National Youth Counter Terrorism Advisory Group (YTAG), to advise National Counter Terrorism Police Headquarters  (CTPHQ) about strategy, policy and operational delivery of Counter Terrorism Policing from a young person perspective. We want to begin an ongoing dialogue that will help improve relationships and deliver better and safer communities across the country, more resilient to extremist with improved critical thinking skills.

On behalf of Assistant Commissioner Neil BASU and Chief Superintendent Nik Adams I coordinate all of the national Counter Terrorism Advisory Groups (CTAG). The main CTAG has now been running for just over a year and we are forming a number of groups that will feed in to advise the most senior Counter Terrorism Police officers in the UK on how we can constantly improve CT Policing.

Mr Basu regularly meets with the Prime minister, Home secretary and other very senior strategic partners, consequently the CTAG have a direct line to affect how the UK deals with the threat from terrorism and extremism.

It’s essential that we listen to  the voice of young people from across the UK. They would get direct influence over how UK CT policing is delivered and by being a part of this national group you would build a network and increase their skills and experience.

All rail travel is paid for by us; lunch and refreshments will also be provided. I believe that this is a great opportunity to get involved with something that will have a significant impact over the coming years and we can work as a group together to represent the voice of young people nationally.
