The winner of the Award in September 2013 was Roger Philip Smith who, whilst only a 19 year-old Dunlop apprentice, founded the Midland Aircraft Preservation Society which established the City’s air museum at Baginton.
Sadly, Roger passed away this morning, aged just 75. His friends and fellow founding members would be extremely grateful if a copy of the photograph taken on the day of the presentation at the Council House could be made available, for use in the notice to be circulated throughout the preservation movement and at his funeral.
