The “Festival of Lights” in Longford Park 12pm-6pm will feature performances from famous international singer Sukshinder Shinda and local singers. The action-packed day will incorporate music, dance, Bollywood dancers, folk and bhangra drummers, food, arts, crafts, a funfair, health awareness checks for diabetes, lung function and blood pressure and Alzheimer’s and mental health awareness campaigns. In addition there will be an opportunity to sample foods from our International food stalls. There will also be a raffle draw at 5pm with tickets priced at £1.00 to support Godiva Lions, with top prizes including £1000.00 in travel vouchers, a 42 inch television, a jaguar car experience and his and hers bicycles. The event will close at 6pm with a spectacular fireworks display which will light up the skies and bring the action-packed weekend to an end.

This is the second day of a two-day event that started with the Community of Lights on 14 October.

“Friends of Foleshill” are a community group of ambitious individuals actively dedicated to bringing the residents of Foleshill and the surrounding areas together and through a two day extravaganza named “Foleshill Festival of Lights” the community will come together to celebrate all faiths and diversities with spectacular displays of dance, music, arts and entertainment.
