Pink Trees in Coventry

As part of women’s month, the Godiva Trust has installed 6 pink trees dedicated to women.
Each tree is Painted pink, they await your leaves to dress their branches. Each leaf will commemorate or pay tribute to a woman alive or dead, someone you feel is special to you. You could choose mother, grandmother, auntie, sister, daughter, teacher, a woman in history, or a celebrity that you feel deserves a dedication. The leaves can be made from any material and will be fixed to the tree with a ribbon to signify Coventry’s historic links with the ribbon industry.
Remember a woman you love or who has inspired you….place your own message to celebrate her life. Include a photograph if you like. Then tie your leaf to one of the special women’s pink trees, with a ribbon, a reminder of Coventrys past ribbon industry, at one of the venues listed below:
- Coventry City Council House
- Coventry Cathedral
- Methodist Central Hall
- West Orchards Shopping Centre
- Metropolis Restaurant
- Foleshill Library
After the festival the leaves will form the leaves of a book, so please include your name as well if you want it to be known as yours.
Later in the year a living tree will be planted to commemorate all the women.
