Coventry Peace Trail Appeal
Coventry Lord Mayor’s Committee for Peace and Reconciliation are appealing for £10,000 to help improve the signage for Coventry Peace Trail.
After the devastating bombing of Coventry in 1940, the city has dedicated itself as a city of peace and reconciliation. Among the many activities it undertakes, Coventry Lord Mayor’s Committee for Peace and Reconciliation has organised an Inner City Peace Trail to guide visitors (and the citizens of Coventry) around the 30 locations in the city centre with links to peace and reconciliation.
The Committee has already published a booklet and created a Peace Trail Website containing maps, descriptions of each location and (in the case of the website) audio recordings.
Now it wants to make it easy for people to find the website so they can follow the Peace Trail. We plan to erect small signs containing QR codes so people can open the relevant page on the website and hear the recording. We also aim to create an app so people can be guided with audio directions as they walk to the next location in the trail.
In order to carry forward our plans we need to raise £10,000 which will put Coventry’s peace locations firmly in the minds and on the phones of all visitors.
Please donate as much as you can to this worthy cause.
