Winter Night Shelter celebrates success!
Coventry Winter Night Shelter is drawing to a close for this winter, with its fantastic volunteers having served more than 6,500 hours and 1450 shifts. Many people have been moved on from sleeping rough into better situations, including Sean:
Back in December, we found Sean living on the streets, reluctant to get help. It took some convincing to bring him to the project, but soon he started a journey of recovery from his drug addiction, with our support in the Night Shelter that gave him a place of welcome and rest, and with the help of other services in the city like CGL and Arc.
Today we are proud to say that through our constant care and support, he has reconnected with his family, is engaging in his recovery, is looking after himself better and we have connected him to the Council. He has finally been accepted into a hotel, and the Council are designing a personalised plan with him to continue the work we started four months ago.
To new beginnings – perseverance pays off!
