Diversity Identity and Peace
During 2021-22, Coventry Lord Mayor’s Committee for Peace and Reconciliation will be running a project focusing on Diversity, Identity and Peace. The project, kindly funded by the University of Warwick, will aim to engage young people from local colleges who might not have access to or even thought about access to art and culture.
The participants will be engaged in four workshops on ‘What Peace Means to Me’. This will explore issues of diversity and identity and will prepare them for Phase Two which will involve more meaningful, thought-out responses to these issues. For these workshops the project will seek advice from University of Warwick staff and participation of media students to help us capture these young people’s thoughts on video and audio recordings.
The media students will then help to edit these recordings into podcasts. These will be published on our websites and, hopefully, some of them will also be published on the websites of the various institutions whose students have taken part.
Finally we will produce a portable photographic exhibition of some of the participants which will be showcased at various venues including the University of Warwick.
