On 10 September, SGI-UK Heart of England will run an event in Birmingham dedicated to promoting peace and remembering the tragic events of Hiroshima.
Starting at 14:30, this in-person event will provide a platform for individuals to reflect on the devastating consequences of war and advocate for a peaceful future.
Throughout the afternoon they will host various activities including guest speakers, interactive exhibits and thought-provoking discussions. Together, we can learn from history and work towards a world free from nuclear weapons.
Join SGI-UK to honor the lives lost and stand united in our commitment to peace. Let’s create a better future for generations to come.
About SGI-UK
Soka Gakkai International UK is a Buddism in action for peace organisation based in Campden, London.
Daisaku Ikeda, the founding president of the Soka Gakkai International (SGI), is a Buddhist philosopher, peacebuilder, educator, author and poet. He was born in Tokyo, Japan, on January 2, 1928, the fifth of eight children, to a family of seaweed farmers. The devastation and senseless horror he witnessed as a teenager during World War II gave birth to a lifelong passion to work for peace, rooting out the fundamental causes of human conflict.
