I am sure you are aware of the increasingly bad news from Palestine this year. There has been an increase in the number of demolitions, displacements, detentions without trial and the number of children who suffer violence, who have been arrested and imprisoned is appalling.
The demolition of the Jahalin Bedouin village homes and school of Khan al Ahmar was delayed but the settlers continue to open their sewage pipes and flood the lower part of the village with their waste – there is a large pool of it there at this moment. The children suffer extreme trauma as they are forever asking will the soldiers come today? I have just heard that the date of 2nd December has been suggested as a new demolition date – but we do not know.
We can continue to advocate for justice and call for the maintenance of international law.
In addition, we can support the Palestinian economy by buying what goods we can as many have you have been doing for many years and I am grateful to you for doing this.
I hope you feel you can do so again this year.
I am grateful too, to Earlsdon Methodist Church for enabling me to have stall again at their Christmas Festival.
This will be from Thursday 6th – Sunday 9th December.
Thursday 6th December 9am–2pm; 3pm-6pm (the stall will be there from 9, I will be there from about 11.15am)
Friday 7th December 9am-2pm; 3pm-6pm
Saturday 8th December 9am-12pm
Sunday 9th December 11.30am-2pm; 3pm-5pm
There will be the usual Zaytoun olive oil and food goods and a wide variety of olive wood, embroidery and L’Arche Community felted goods.
