Justice for Palestinians Leamington Spa are very pleased to welcome Amira Hass who will talk
at 6:30 pm on Sunday April 8th at Family Tree,Kenilworth Street, Leamington CV32 4QS about her experience of working as an Israeli journalist in the West Bank and Gaza, and about the prospects for a peaceful outcome for the Palestinian/Israeli conflict.
Amira Hass is an Israeli journalist and author widely known for her contributions to the left-wing Israeli newspaper Haaretz. She is the daughter of two Holocaust survivors and is the only Jewish Israeli journalist who has lived full-time among the Palestinians, in Gaza from 1993 and in Al-Bireh which is close to Ramallah from 1997. On various occasions she stated her opinion, “Just as reporting about England should be from London and about France from Paris, so reporting about Palestine should be from Palestine.
This year she is presenting the 2018 Edward W. Said London Lecture. She is the author of two books: Drinking the Sea at Gaza (Metropolitan, 2000) and Reporting from Ramallah (Semiotex, 2003).
