Flight for Peace in Abbeygate Shopping Centre
Hundreds of origami doves have been installed in Abbeygate Shopping Centre, Nuneaton, by Sioux Watkins and others supporting The Makery gift shop, cafe and art studio.
The Makery works collaboratively with people, Local Authorities and Organisations to bring about change at a Social level and do the social knitting required to create stronger and more resilient communities, supporting them to identify and remove barriers that prevent them living connected lives, thus reducing isolation, loneliness and exclusion.
CoventryLive reports Sioux as saying it was an emotional experience installing the doves. “It was the most emotional incredible 48 hours ever. Myself and all the volunteers cried buckets reading and installing the beautiful doves everyone has contributed. Many prayers for lost loved ones, many words for peace and many affirmations.”
The Makery is part of the Guardians Grow charity.
