ForcesWatch campaign against unethical armed forces recruitment practices in the UK and question the climate of uncritical support for the armed forces which stifles concerns about how young people are recruited and limits debate on alternatives to war.
Current projects include: challenging the influence of the military in the UK education system; advocating for the minimum age of armed forces recruitment to be raised from 16 to 18, and to make terms and conditions for those in the armed forces clearer and less restrictive, with greater recognition of conscientious objection; and monitoring and responding to ways in which the military is being increasingly promoted as a normal part of everyday life
We offer interactive critical thinking workshops exploring these issues to schools and other groups.
