Peace Partners Peace Education Programme
The Peace Education Programme (PEP) is a media-based educational programme, created by The Prem Rawat Foundation. The purpose is to help participants explore the possibility of personal peace and discover inner resources – innate tools for living such as inner strength. The Programme consists of 10 hours of workshop material focused on a selection of core themes from Prem Rawat’s international addresses. The themes are: Peace, Appreciation, Inner Strength, Self-Awareness, Clarity, Understanding, Dignity, Choice, Hope, & Contentment. Each session includes several video segments, times for reflection and accompanying reading material. There is a workbook for each participant. There are no tests, as the programme is about individual self-discovery – something that is unique for each person. PEP sessions can be held weekly over a 10 week period or arranged to suit the requirements of the hosting organisation.
The purpose of the Peace Education Programme is to help participants explore the possibility of personal peace and discover their own inner resources – tools for living. Pupils of secondary school age of fourteen and above will find the workshops insightful and empowering – especially with the topics of inner strength, self-awareness and choice. The pace of learning is unique to each student as they embark on a course of individual self-discovery, with no right or wrong answers. Workshops are facilitated, rather than taught, creating a sensitive and comfortable environment within which the learning and self-expression can happen. The course is inclusive, interactive and enhances well-being and is very enjoyable!
The course is non-sectarian, non-religious and non-political and consists of a series of ten interactive workshops, each focusing on a particular topic: Inner Peace, Appreciation, Inner Strength, Self-Awareness, Clarity, Understanding, Dignity, Choice, Hope, and Inner Contentment.
Workshops run for 30 minutes one day a week, over a 10 week period. The workshops can be adapted and are flexible to fit into school term times and school class timetables, if required. The sessions include DVDs which are relevant to each particular topic, whether it is Appreciation, Inner Strength or Self awareness etc. There is time during the session, for reflection and personal expressions, and a Facilitator and Student workbook are provided for each session, to enable this to happen in an open and safe environment. Often the expressions by participants are in the form of poetry, written, artwork or spoken words.
All materials can be downloaded free of charge, and Peace Partners can fund the cost of any printing or DVD production required, if needed, and we can provide the information for downloads once an enquiry has been made.
All workshops are supported by Risk Assessments and include guidance notes. Facilitators can be provided if required, who operate on a volunteer basis, or a training session and online guidance for teachers who would like to facilitate and run the workshops with the children/students themselves, can be arranged. This information is provided when a booking or enquiry is made.
