Pupil Conference: How to be a Peaceful School – video
Pupils and teachers from Coventry schools gave presentations to other schools explaining what they do to promote peace within their school, their community and the wider world.
The theme of the conference was “How to be a Peaceful School”. It was organised in Coventry Cathedral by Coventry Lord Mayor’s Committee for Peace and Reconciliation and Coventry Cathedral International Cross of Nails Schools team in November 2021.
As well as the “World Café” style presentations by schools, attendees also heard the experiences of Ms Keiko Ogura, a survivor of the 1945 Hiroshima nuclear bomb and heard from Adam Hedge (Shadow CV) talking about his song Prayer for Peace and about how music can help promote peace and well-being in schools.
Most of the schools present had received Coventry Peace Award.
