Coventry Annual Peace Festival
The Peace Festival is held annually from 1 to 14 November to commemorate the bombing of Coventry City centre during World War 2. On the night of 14 November, German aeroplanes dropped over 4000 firebombs on the city, killing hundreds of people and destroying large parts of the city, including its medieval cathedral.
In previous years, people who organise events during the Peace Festival could claim £250 from the city council. This arrangement might change in the future.
