On Saturday 31st August 2019 at 1.30pm the Indian Workers Association & Punjabi Writers Association of Coventry will celebrate the 110th Anniversary of Martyr Madan Lal Dhingra (August 1909 – August 2019).
Martyr Madan Lal Dhingra was born in the great city of Amritsar situated in Punjab state came to England as a student at the prime age of 22. He was the first person who sacrificed his life on a foreign soil, England, for the independence of his beloved country India. He was martyred on 17th August 1909 by the then British Government and this year is the 110th anniversary of his sacrifice.
Program
The doors to the Ravidassia Community Centre will be open at 1pm, please come and join us and pay your respect.
1:30pm: First Part – Welcoming everyone and a Tribute to Martyr Madan Lal Dhingra by Lecturer Radha D’Fouza: Smt Leena Dhingra (Granddaughter Dhingra Family) and other local dignitaries.
4:00pm: Break and Refreshment
4:15pm: Second Part – Views of dignitaries and Kavi Darbar – Poetry, Songs and Ghazals by Writers, Poets from all over the U.K. and beyond.
6:00pm: Program End
