On 20 March 2018 the Reconciliation Ministry Team at Coventry Cathedral invite local business and community leaders to explore what it means to live lives of reconciliation in their own contexts.
Coventry is known internationally as a City of Peace and Reconciliation, but what does this actually mean in practice? How does it impact society, our relationships and our own lives?
We will explore reconciliation in three contexts: 1) your own life/relationships, 2) your interactions at work/organisations etc. and 3) within wider society.
For each of these three broad themes there are learning and reflecting sessions. At the learning sessions, we will look at case studies, hear from experts in the field and look at techniques/skills which we can put in to practice. Participants will be encouraged to use what they have learned over the following weeks so that at the reflecting session, we can explore together the impact of our knowledge and experience with further case-studies, Q&A and other activities designed to consolidate what has been learned. The course is primarily designed to get you to critically engage with what reconciliation means in your own context. It is not a course which teaches you ‘how to reconcile in 10 easy steps’ – as you will discover fairly early on, reconciliation is difficult, messy and can be unpredictable – but we want to open people’s eyes to what is possible if they are open to pursuing reconciliation.
All sessions run 7pm – 9pm
