Girl’s Aid International
Girl’s Aid International is a community-based non-for-profit organisation located in Coventry that has a compelling desire to bring real positive change to girls and women lives in and around the world. We do that through a holistic approach of educational, empowerment, wellness and economic. We partner with international agencies, and local communities fighting to eradicate child abuse and poverty.
We work with local communities leaders in the rural part of the world and most difficult neighbourhoods to offer self-sustaining projects of hope that will safeguard the girls from harmful cultural practices such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), Breast Ironing, Forced Marriage, Child Labour, and Slavery.
We accomplish this through the support we received from donations, talents, and passions of people, around the world who want to bring an end to the abuse of girls by those who are supposed to protect them.
What we do
We are committed to working in partnership with international community agencies to raise awareness of issues FGM, and other oppressive practice affecting young girls. We work with the international community organisations to promote awareness on FGM, and other issues relevant to the ethnic population to safeguard girls from abuse. We dialogue with local people to find the best way to address those issues that impact on the well-being of the girls in their community
Our vision is to build ongoing, and permanent relationships with international agencies, community leaders, community groups and individual for the purpose of applying a collective vision for the benefit of the communities
We support and challenge the girls to become the best they can be and to realise their full potential
We encourage girls to take a leadership role in their community and to be the leading change within the community and in their own lives.
