Grapevine
Grapevine Coventry and Warwickshire is a registered charity whose aims are to
- relieve and support people in need of assistance and care, by the provision of services to enable such persons to obtain full rights and privileges as citizens;
- relieve the social exclusion of people in need of assistance and care by promoting inclusion in the wider community with the object of improving their conditions of life; and to
- promote the provision of activities for recreation.
Their website says: “We upset traditional service models of ‘needs based provision’ and established a new model of ‘needs as assets’. We learnt how to unlock the abundant pre-existing resources in communities and helped them build resilience and grow protective networks for their members. We saw people begin to look after each other and raise each other up. Our work was profiled nationally and recognised as leading a new way of ‘doing’ services and reducing reliance on shrinking public services.”
